“As a portfolio manager, I have to encompass the needs of all types of clients. There’s no one strategy that stays the same for each client, only our desire to most efficiently and effectively achieve their goals.”
Getting to know clients enables financial advisors to identify their long-term goals and create plans to help achieve them, but to fine-tune the investment decisions that allow those goals to come to fruition requires the expertise and institutional knowledge of a portfolio manager. As an in-house authority at CGC, Tammi is a resource for crafting efficient portfolios that take into account clients’ investment objectives, risk tolerance, and other needs.
While she primarily interfaces with advisors, not clients, Tammi takes into account each client’s financial and life history when creating portfolios, discussing clients extensively with their advisor prior to making any recommendations. She often says, “Helping clients meet their goals is what gives me true personal satisfaction.” Her professional history as a quantitative analyst at Portland-based Columbia Management, and later a manager of their $3.5 billion Large Cap Growth Fund, led her deep dive into quantitative research. Prior to joining CGC, Tammi was the Chief Investment Officer and a Senior Portfolio Manager at local Etesian Wealth Advisors.
Tammi lives in Lake Oswego with her husband and two daughters. When not at the office, she enjoys outdoor photography, excellent Northwest wine, and road cycling in the many scenic parts of Oregon.
